FEC 701-709, 715-719 (14 units) leased from Fadale & Associates (FAIX Leasing, Inc.), owned by LaSalle National Leasing Corporation, leased started on 31 May 2002 (Randy Keller)
FEC 710-714, 720 (6 units) leased from David J. Joseph Co., which sold these units to FEC. Joseph got out of the locomotive leasing business and there was no STB recordation showing there was a lease to FEC, like there was for the previous units from FAIX. (Randy Keller)
FEC 722 was confirmed as being ex UP 3756 by checking the still visible UP number under the FEC 722 number; leased(?) from Progress Rail Services (PRSX).
Although still lettered for Florida East Coast, FEC 721 and 722 have been transferred to RailAmerica's New England Central (NECR) in Massachusetts; RailAmerica owns both NECR and FEC.
FEC 717, 718 and 719 were transferred to Rail America's Alabama & Gulf Coast (AGR) in March 2008. (email from Michael Woodruff, September 8, 2009)
Former UP 3908 is at Progress Rail in Patterson, Ga., and has become a parts source. This may mean that FEC bought the 3908 and Progress Rail Services was using it as a parts source for FEC locomotives.
